Christina would like for you to know her story about how she entered this world and how she has grown since then. Just like CJ's Bakery, she started off with an especially tiny beginning.
Weighing in at 2 lbs, 2oz at her birth she lost 2 oz. of weight in the first days of her life outside of the womb. At 2 lbs. it did not look good, but then.. she started growing!
There were some things that were harder for Christina to do as a little girl, her muscles were hard to coordinate due to cerebral palsy.
She was a delightful girl with some very special gifts such as the ability to pick "Waldo" out of a cluttered page in less than a second, and a keen sense of direction that would rival the best GPS map apps.
With caring friends and teachers she did well in school at Midway where she learned a lot about how to live life, including how to make and serve treats in the school coffee shop
With joy when caring for babies and an interest in baking and cooking, Christina set out to define herself as a young adult.
After graduating from Midway High School, Christina completed the KAT program at the Truman Medical Center where she was born and where her mom completed Medical School.
Christina has been studying and learning cooking and baking techniques, with hours of study each day since 2020.
She is ready to show what she has learned and put it to good use.
She wants you to know that even though it is difficult to get her facial muscles to smile, she is smiling on the inside because of the care this community has shown her.
She also wants you to know that sometimes it is hard for her talk at all and other times hard for her to talk quietly. She also wants you to know she wears headphones often to help deal with overwhelming sounds.
She sometimes finds it difficult to be in tight spaces with people or having them touch her when she is not expecting it.
Her younger sister
Christina misses her younger sister, Hannah, who is off in Virginia studying for her master's in psychology.
Sisters Christina and Hannah with their beagador, Bandit.
